Job Summary
Transport students over specified routes. Requires 21+ age, valid Georgia driver’s license, High School Diploma or GED. CDL/School Bus endorsements (S and P) if applicable; training program completion; pass physical, background check, and driving-record checks. Must be able to lift ~25 pounds, conduct emergency evacuation drills, and be computer literate. Part-time schedule: 6.0 hours per day, 186 days per year. CDL prerequisites and testing guidance provided by Clayton County Transportation Department.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must have current, valid Georgia driver’s license
- Must successfully complete school bus driver training program
- MUST have S and P endorsements on license (if CDL held) or obtain through testing
- Must pass physical examination
- Background check required
- Minimum of three consecutive years driving experience
- MVR report within last 7 years (Georgia MVR not older than 30 days)
- Ability to lift approximately 25 pounds
- Must be computer literate
- Must be able to conduct emergency evacuation drills as required
- No DUI or serious traffic violations on driving record
