Job Summary
Communicate daily with lead teachers regarding student needs and goals, then help organize the classroom environment and distribute materials. Observe lessons and SPED students to identify differentiation needs, share reflections, and track behavior using provided tools. Sit near students requiring extra support, offer assistance such as cool-down walks, and build relationships to encourage growth. Actively supervise students, model respectful communication and active listening, and assist teachers in assessing student work against established criteria. Meet weekly with instructional strategists to discuss observations and concerns, while maintaining accurate documentation of progress. Participate in professional development and school activities that advance the community's mission.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Experience working with children in a school or related setting
- Must be trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or must be willing to attend the training
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in and/or understanding of the public school system including charter schools
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field
- CDA
- Applied Behavior Analysis training
