Job Summary
Provide staff development technical assistance and consultation services to instructional/support personnel and school administrators in areas relating to achieving academic and behavioral success for students with disabilities. Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and staffing specialists to ensure the provision of special education services, related services, modifications, and accommodations as indicated on each student’s IEP. Provide direct services to students with disabilities as required to ensure educational benefit and allow students to progress towards their IEP goals. Attend meetings and inservice trainings with the ESE Director/designee at least two times per month. Attend meetings representing the District as the ESE Director’s designee as determined appropriate by the ESE Director.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Master’s degree preferred
- Three (3) years of Highly Effective/Effective experience teaching in ESE
- Valid Florida teaching certification in one or more areas of special education; dual certification preferred
- Other program specific certifications, endorsements, licenses preferred (e.g., behavior analysis, gifted, speech-language pathology)
- Proven experience managing business/department functions and staff preferred
- Industry certification preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred
- Alternatives to above qualifications as Board may find acceptable
