Job Summary
This position requires a Special Education Teacher to provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences to support their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The teacher must develop and implement lesson plans, modify curricula for special education students in accordance with IEPs, and manage student behavior. Strong subject knowledge and the ability to instruct and assess students are essential. The role also entails maintaining open communication with parents and other staff while participating in professional development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
Desired Qualifications
- ESL Certification required within six months of employment for elementary and secondary core teachers.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
