Job Summary
Develop and implement an instructional program that effectively provides the best possible education for each student, including creating lesson plans, curriculum materials, and integrating technology to enhance learning. Assess student learning to plan and implement appropriate instruction while maintaining an inclusive, supportive environment that respects diverse backgrounds. Collaborate with parents, families, and other teachers to contribute to a positive team environment, utilizing Google Drive for instructional purposes and managing coursework. Engage in effective communication using strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities for the 2026–2027 school year.
Required Qualifications
- Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher's License with appropriate endorsement in area to which assigned
- Possess knowledge of medical aspects of disabilities and their implications for instruction
- Possess knowledge of resources and techniques needed to integrate special education students into the least restrictive environment
- Possess ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
- Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
- Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework
- Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families
- Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
- Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities
