Job Summary

Head Softball Coach responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting regular practice sessions; developing and implementing game strategies and tactics; teaching fundamental skills, techniques, and sports rules to student-athletes; supervising student-athletes during practices, games, and trips; monitoring academic progress and supporting students in balancing athletics and academics; promoting discipline, responsibility, and good sportsmanship; ensuring compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations; managing and maintaining team equipment and uniforms; collaborating with the athletic director on scheduling, budget, and facility use; maintaining open communication with parents and guardians; providing mentorship and guidance to student-athletes on personal development and college opportunities; enforcing all school policies and codes of conduct.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior coaching experience at the high school or competitive youth level
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Department of Education athletic coaching certificate
  • Valid FHSAA certification
  • Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
