Job Summary
Assistant Softball Coach responsible for assisting with planning, organizing, and conducting regular practice sessions; developing and implementing game strategies; teaching fundamental softball skills and rules to student-athletes; supervising during practices, games, and trips; promoting discipline, responsibility, and sportsmanship; ensuring compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations; assisting with equipment maintenance, scheduling, and facility use; maintaining open communication with parents/guardians; and providing mentorship and guidance on personal development and college opportunities. Strong knowledge of softball rules, techniques, and safety practices; effective communication, organization, and leadership; ability to collaborate with school staff, parents, and community partners; and availability to work evenings, weekends, and during school breaks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Prior coaching experience.
- Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Department of Education athletic coaching certificate.
- Valid FHSAA certification.
- Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
