Job Summary
Secondary Teacher – MS Special Education positions: Create and implement a flexible secondary program and learning environment aligned with Oklahoma state standards; teach reading/language arts, social studies, math, science, art, health, physical education, and music as appropriate; develop and translate lesson plans into engaging learning experiences; provide individualized and small-group instruction; maintain records, evaluate student growth, and communicate progress with parents; establish a professional, respectful classroom climate; participate in school-improvement initiatives and related in-service activities; duties may include supervision during cafeteria, field trips, and other activities; requires Oklahoma teacher certification in secondary education, a bachelor’s degree in education or related field, and autism/Deaf-Blindness/ID/ED/LD certifications as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in education or related field
- Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Secondary Education
- Certification in autism services registry training (9801 Autism)
- Certification in Deaf-Blindness (9802)
- ID Requirements for multiple disability areas
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and community
- Collaborative ability and initiative
- Follow state/district guidelines
