Job Summary
Science teacher responsible for delivering TEA-aligned science instruction to a diverse population of middle school students. Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional strategies, assess student progress, and provide timely feedback. Collaborate with special education teachers and interventionists to modify curricula and accommodations (ARD/LPAC/Section 504/RtI) as needed. Manage classroom environment and behavior; maintain appropriate records and documentation for admissions, progress, and grades. Contribute to meetings and district initiatives, sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned, and participate in professional development. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Current ESL Certification: ESL Certification required within (2) years of employment beginning with teachers hired in the 2010-2011 school year
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Gifted Teachers must have 30 hours of gifted approved hours required
- Experience: Completion of student teaching or approved internship
