Job Summary
Assistant Boys Football Coach at PS 304 Hutchinson Central Technical High School for the 2026-2027 school year. Responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Adhere to NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics. Model nondiscriminatory practices. Assume responsibility for the conduct of the team and for the philosophy and teachings of the athletic program. Be available for contests and practices Monday–Saturday with some holidays. Supervise equipment, uniforms, and supplies; submit roster updates; notify scores; attend meetings; conduct meetings to explain try-outs, selection, and code of conduct; prepare and submit schedule of scrimmages; follow procedures for injuries; ensure completion of end-of-season reports; comply with NYS regulations and district athletic handbook. Supervisory duties and ongoing professional activities to improve coaching performance. Salary per current BTF contract; final date for filing June 16, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include some experience in organized football at club/varsity/college levels
- Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills
- Must possess knowledge of rules and strategies of football
- Must maintain relationships with administrators, parents, and students
- Employed by the Board of Education per master contract
- First Aid/CPR/AED requirement prior to applying
- Coaching certification pathways acceptable: NYS Coaching Certification or NFHS NYS Second Pathway
Desired Qualifications
- FIRST AID/CPR/AED certification
- New York State coaching certification or NFHS NYS pathway
- experience coaching football at multiple levels (club to varsity)
- ability to establish relationships with administrators, parents, and students
- knowledge of NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics
- knowledge of NYSPHSAA Section VI regulations and district athletic handbook
