Plan and deliver reading instruction aligned to curriculum objectives for students; establish a constructive classroom environment; guide learning toward curriculum goals and communicate objectives for lessons, units, and projects; employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting objectives; assess student progress regularly and provide progress reports; diagnose learning strengths/weaknesses and seek district specialist input as needed; counsel with colleagues, students, and parents; assist administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct; plan and supervise support personnel and volunteers; use technology in teaching; maintain accurate records as required by policy and law; perform Medicaid administrative claims activities as directed in accordance with the SDAC Guide; adhere to the ethics and policies of the Education Profession in Florida; participate in school improvement initiatives; recognize indicators of student distress or abuse and take appropriate action; create appropriate testing environments and ensure test security.
