2026-2027 Reading Coach- HKT Elementary School

Reading Coach at HKT Elementary School responsibilities include participating in SCDE Reading Coach Institute or approved coach program, attending monthly and virtual training sessions, meeting with administration to review progress, assisting with development of the school Reading Plan, modeling effective instructional strategies with students, leading study groups, training teachers in data analysis to differentiate instruction, conducting observations and conferences with teachers, supporting lesson design and planning, establishing classroom environments for literacy, coordinating with teachers on district reading initiatives, coaching colleagues in instructional practices, providing daily support to classroom teachers, ensuring fidelity of research-based reading strategies, and collaborating with all teachers to maximize student literacy outcomes. Minimum qualifications include appropriate SC certification and degree, with additional literacy-coach endorsement or enrollment in an approved program; strong knowledge of reading and literacy practices, data-driven instruction, coaching skills, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities and travel as needed. Exempt FLSA status; 200 days; salary per district schedule.
