2026-2027 Payroll & Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Summary

Process regular monthly and special payrolls in eFinance, including printing checks and direct deposit vouchers. Maintain employee payroll information files in written and electronic formats to ensure accuracy and provide an audit trail. Review timesheets and invoices for validity, accuracy, and proper authorization, then research and edit discrepancies prior to processing. Perform data entry for hourly staff, calculate blended rates and overtime, and verify leave pay and deductions. Submit deduction reports to the Director of Accounting and coordinate with the Benefits Coordinator for correct benefit and investment deductions. Provide assistance to bookkeepers and travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Maintain knowledge of coding and processes within all payroll-related software.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to maintain emotional control and make decisions in stressful situations
  • Ability to efficiently gather information used to make sound decisions
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining labor laws
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and independently to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation and staff supervision
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral formats with staff and community

  • Ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Possess sound emotional judgment
  • Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed
  • Ability to develop, implement, and maintain vision and mission of programs
