Job Summary
Conduct tutoring sessions with small groups of 3 to 5 children in grades 1-5, assisting with homework, skill reinforcement, and test preparation while motivating students to achieve instructional goals. Plan cooperatively with classroom teachers and maintain records of student progress. Complete required training sessions and interpret school board policies. Work part-time, 2 or 4 days per week for up to 7 hours daily across 13 weeks per semester, with prep days in late August and late January. Earn $25.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Teaching License OR 20 years Teaching Experience with Inactive Tennessee Teaching License Required
- Literacy and/or mathematics emphasis preferred, but not required
- Successfully complete required training sessions
- Ability to interpret and follow school board policies as related to job functions
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform any physical duties associated with this position (e.g., sitting for long periods of time, walking, seeing, standing for extended periods of time, etc.)
