Job Summary
Assist the classroom teacher by performing essential tasks, supervising students during activities, and working with students in small groups or individually on instructional activities. Provide information regarding student academic and behavioral performance to teachers, parents, and the IEP team. Maintain student control, cue appropriate behaviors, and tend to personal needs including hygiene, transfers, and feeding schedules. Implement Individual Education Plan instructions, collect data on behavior and progress, and communicate with families and administration. Accompany students to lunch, dismissal, field trips, and transition times, and assist related services therapists as needed.
