Job Summary
Academic Dean at Achievement First responsible for coaching teachers, developing instructional strategies, and driving data-informed decisions to improve student outcomes. Key duties include analyzing school-wide data to design interventions, collaborating with principal and Network Support to develop curricula and schedules, observing lessons and delivering targeted feedback, planning units and assessments with grade/subject teams, supporting teachers in creating high-impact student support plans, modeling outstanding instruction, coordinating professional development sessions, leading interim assessment processes and debriefs, and participating in the school leadership team to monitor progress and cultivate a positive school culture. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), state-school-leader certification or ability to obtain it within two months, a minimum of 3 years of K-12 lead teaching experience with strong student achievement, and at least 1 year of experience coaching and leading adults. Spanish language proficiency is noted as a plus in the diversity commitment. Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred
- Certified as a school leader per your state’s guidelines and requirements; If not currently certified, ability to obtain necessary state certification in specific subject and grade level is required within the first two months of employment
- At least 3 years of K-12 full-time lead teaching experience with a record of high student achievement
- At least 1 year of experience coaching and leading adults to obtain high student achievement
