Job Summary
Prepare and serve appropriate quantities of food to meet menu requirements while maintaining high standards of quality, sanitation, and safety. Assist manager with computer work including production records, inventory counting/record-keeping for P&L, HACCP documentation, and posting component posters. Check and maintain records of food to be shipped, handle deposits/cashier duties, and report policy violations. Follow HACCP procedures, serve according to meal schedules, and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers. Maintain a clean, sanitary serving area and operate kitchen tools safely. Maintain required annual training hours and participate in district training and policies. Be flexible to work in multiple schools as needed and communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff. Implement and follow safety protocols and emergency procedures, and maintain technology competence to meet current needs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED preferred
- Must have or be able to obtain within 60 days, a State of Texas ANSI accredited Food Handler’s Certification
- Must obtain minimum required annual Professional Standard training hours, per USDA regulations
- Must attend required training, in-service and work related activities
- Must work in various schools as needed
