Job Summary
Teach newcomer/ELL students at the Newcomer Academy in Austin, delivering instruction and developing lessons to support intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Lead LPAC coordination, collaborate with teachers to modify curricula for LEP students, assess student learning styles, use technology to enhance instruction, plan and implement district-aligned lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, communicate with parents, and participate in ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Texas Teaching Certification
- Bilingual/ESL Endorsement
- LPAC Experience (training preferred)
- Knowledge of LEP/ELL instructional strategies
- Experience with LPAC-related processes (chairing LPAC preferred)
