Job Summary
Provide supplemental instructional support to Teachers of Emergent Bilingual students to build instructional capacity through professional development, modeling, observation and debriefing protocols. Serve as an instructional coach for ESL/EB teachers; assist ESL Specialist with progress monitoring; collaborate with content specialists to align district and campus goals; deliver campus professional development; maintain technology proficiency and implement alternative instruction methods as needed; attend district ESL meetings and trainings; ensure EB student needs are met through ongoing coaching and evaluation. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, valid educator certification with ESL endorsement, at least three years of classroom teaching experience with EBs, and strong knowledge of sheltered instruction and district ESL/DUAL Language programs; proficient with Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems; T-TESS proficient.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
- Valid educator certification and highly qualified status for the position advertised
- Valid ESL Certification grade appropriate
- Minimum three (3) years’ of classroom teaching experience as a teacher of EBs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, DMAC, Excel, & presentation platforms
- Knowledge of Language Development and Best Practices for instructing ELLs
- Experience with sheltered instruction
- Knowledge of the district’s Dual Language Program (middle school)
- Knowledge of the district’s ESL program
- Experience with district ESL meetings and professional development trainings for ESL leaders
