Job Summary
Entry-level instructional support assistant helps certified teachers with classroom activities, including preparing materials, setting up and monitoring student activities, shelving books, and assisting with personal hygiene tasks. Responsibilities include assisting with instruction, monitoring behavior inside and outside the classroom, assisting with clean-up, organizing assignments and homework folders, participating in meetings and training, creating bulletin boards, maintaining materials, and communicating with parents. Requires a High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent), and specific licensing/clearance steps (First Aid/CPR within 30 days; DPS fingerprint clearance). Position is part-time and located in Scottsdale, AZ; typical duties involve supporting teachers and caring for children, with the ability to perform routine calculations and use office equipment; expected physical tasks include standing, walking, lifting, and other movements consistent with classroom support.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 60 hours of secondary education or successful completion of the Paraprofessional test (Title Schools)
- First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment
- Valid DPS Arizona FPCC (Fingerprint Clearance Card)
