Job Summary
Develop and implement curriculum plans that accommodate individual student differences while employing diverse instructional techniques and media. Assess student accomplishments regularly to provide progress reports and assist students in improving study habits. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, maintain discipline, and supervise students before, during, and after the school day as assigned. Establish open communication lines with parents and colleagues, and participate in faculty meetings and staff committees. Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities, and comply with all state, district, and school regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Eligible for the appropriate Probationary Certificate through a TEA approved Teacher Certification Program
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress
- Must be able to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to sit
- Must be able to stand
- Must be able to move throughout the room and/or facility
- Must be able to communicate verbally and electronically
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to kneel, stoop, crouch, and/or crawl
- Must be able to climb or balance
- Must be able to work after school and weekends
- Occasionally required to travel to facilities within the district
