Job Summary
Conduct daily cheerleading practices and meetings to develop student athletes' techniques for sideline performance. Assess individual skills to assign team positions and establish a regular practice schedule balancing individual and team development. Coach cheerleaders on rules, regulations, equipment, and sport-specific strategies while observing events to identify improvement needs. Monitor academic eligibility and adhere to state, regional, and district regulations governing the program. Maintain records for eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance, and equipment inventory. Represent the team by communicating with media, booster clubs, and service organizations, and participate in parent nights, banquets, and pep assemblies.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students
Desired Qualifications
- Some experience as a competitive Cheerleader coach at the high school or college level preferred
