Job Summary
Provide students with science instruction for 6th-8th grade at Mission CISD. Develops and implements lesson plans aligned with district curriculum; adapts instruction to diverse learning styles; assesses student learning; collaborates with special education to modify curricula per IEP; plans and supervises teacher aides and volunteers; integrates technology to support learning; maintains open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers; participates in professional growth and adheres to district policies. Classroom management, positive role modeling, and sponsorship of extracurricular activities as assigned. 187-day school year; exempt status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of subject(s) assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Experience with assessment and data-driven instruction
- Collaborates with special education for IEPs
- Uses technology to enhance instruction
- Supervises teacher aides/volunteers
- Maintains professional relationships with stakeholders
