Job Summary
Intervention Specialist position within Licking Heights Local Schools focusing on developing and managing individualized learning strategies for students with disabilities, advancing academic performance through evidence-based instructional practices, and ensuring compliant IEPs and related services. Responsibilities include developing tailored lesson plans aligned with state standards, participating in ETR/IEP processes, proctoring mandated testing, maintaining records, coordinating with families and staff, and providing inclusive educational opportunities while supporting students’ communication, self-regulation, and socialization goals. Requires dual licensure in PK-3 Special Education as applicable, strong collaboration with stakeholders, and adherence to district and state policy; duties emphasize leading best practices, data-driven instruction, and a structured learning environment with potential paraprofessional oversight.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education
- Holds/maintains required ODEW credentials
- Mild-Moderate/Moderate-Severe License or equivalent
- Proficiency in IEP development and implementation
- Experience with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Active listening and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage caseload and maintain records
- Periodicity of evaluations and testing (ETR, IEPs) compliance
- PK-3 dual licensure for Special Education requirements
