Job Summary
Intervention Specialist needed at Licking Heights Local Schools to develop and manage individualized learning strategies for students with disabilities, document progress, and guide interventions. Responsibilities include aligning teaching strategies with student learning styles, implementing evidence-based practices, supporting IEPs and SDI, conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP), preparing lesson plans, ensuring materials for substitutes, coordinating with families and staff, utilizing assessments to monitor progress, and maintaining compliant documentation. The role emphasizes leadership in best practices, regular team collaboration, and adherence to district standards, with PK-3 dual licensure required. The environment requires frequent planning, documentation, and collaboration with stakeholders to support student success and inclusive education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university or equivalent
- Holds/maintains required ODEW credentials, Mild-Moderate/Moderate-Severe License
- Acts according to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
- PK teacher requires dual licensure for Special Education requirements: Intervention Specialist & PK-3
- Active Listening, Collaboration with stakeholders, creative problem solving, and good time management skills
