Job Summary
Provide academic, social, emotional, pre-vocational, transitional, and behavioral interventions to students with moderate to severe disabilities, including lifting, transferring, feeding, toileting, and administering medication with appropriate training. Deliver curriculum while implementing behavior plans, prompting strategies, and proximity control to ensure safe learning environments. Prepare individualized activities for small groups and monitor student progress and behavior. Maintain accurate records, submit reports, and work cooperatively with staff while adhering to confidentiality policies. This interim position runs from October 1, 2026, through January 25, 2027, at Jefferson Elementary School.
Required Qualifications
- License to teach Special Education CDC in public schools in Tennessee
- Praxis score reports
- Other assessment score reports
- Transcripts
- Evaluation scores
- Oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer operation
- Physical strength and emotional stamina sufficient to organize and coordinate a variety of activities
- Ability to use a variety of special educational materials and supplies, computer and teaching aids
- Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of practices and procedures of instruction for persons with Moderate to severe Autism and other developmental disabilities
