Job Summary
Plan and teach four sections daily, including regular office hours and small group instruction blocks. Collaborate with co-teachers and specialists to deliver differentiated instruction for students with special needs and English language learners. Design culturally affirming, data-informed curriculum and provide targeted feedback using equitable grading practices. Communicate progress with families via phone, messages, and conferences while building relationships through advisory, homeroom, and ethics focus. Participate in weekly staff meetings, coaching sessions, and intervention blocks to uphold school systems and uproot inequality.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license in the appropriate subject area
- A passing score on the Communications & Literacy MTEL
- A MTEL in the content area(s) within their first year of employment at Boston Prep
- An SEI Endorsement (core academic and special education teachers only) within their first year of employment at Boston Prep
