Job Summary
Plan individually or cooperatively a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, diverse backgrounds, and abilities of students; assist in establishing department or grade-level curriculum objectives and the development of the comprehensive plan for implementation and evaluation; create a classroom environment conducive to learning; guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives for lessons and projects; employ instructional methods and materials to meet objectives; assess student progress and provide reports; diagnose learning strengths/weaknesses and involve district specialists as needed; counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents; assist administration with policies governing student life and conduct; plan and supervise assignments for support personnel and volunteers; use technology in teaching; maintain accurate records as required by law and policy; perform Medicaid administrative claims activities; adhere to ethics and district regulations; support school improvement initiatives; recognize indicators of student distress or abuse and take appropriate action; establish testing environments and ensure test security; Revised: 08/01/23
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Florida teaching certificate covering appropriate area of responsibility
