Job Summary

ESE Teacher role in Fort Myers, FL delivering direct and indirect instructional support to students with disabilities. Implement IEPs and use special educational strategies to develop sensory- and perceptual-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory; employ multi-sensory techniques and phonetics to meet diverse student needs. Teach academic subjects with techniques to reinforce learning; promote socially acceptable behavior via a positive behavioral support system aligned with IEPs. Modify curriculum for students with disabilities and alternate assessment students; plan activities for a balanced instructional program; establish classroom rules and procedures for a conducive learning environment. Provide for physician-ordered procedures and medications and meet with parents to discuss progress and priorities. Collaborate with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and other professionals to develop IEPs to support education, physical, and social-emotional development; maintain accurate student records and required reports; communicate objectives and provide crisis intervention as needed. Contribute to data collection for interventions, participate in multidisciplinary teams, and assist in Medicaid administrative claims as directed by the SDAC Guide.

Required Qualifications
