Job Summary
ESE/SPED teacher in Fort Myers, FL responsible for planning and delivering a program of study aligned to students’ needs and district objectives; establish curriculum objectives with colleagues; create a conducive classroom environment; guide learning toward goals and communicate objectives; employ appropriate instructional methods and materials; assess student progress and provide reports; diagnose strengths/weaknesses and seek district support; counsel with stakeholders; supervise support staff and volunteers; use relevant technology in teaching; maintain accurate records; comply with ethics and privacy laws; support school improvement activities; recognize and respond to student distress or abuse; manage testing environments and ensure security; explore out-of-field eligibility as noted.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid Florida teaching certificate covering appropriate area of responsibility.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred
- Experience managing business/department functions and staff
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver high-quality customer service
- Ability to work under deadlines and multitask
