Job Summary
Plan and teach an English & Language Arts program aligned with Texas Education Agency mandates, developing lesson plans that address diverse learning styles and needs. Diagnose student learning requirements and implement accommodations per Admissions/Review/Dismissal, LPAC, and RtI committee guidelines. Manage classroom behavior using district policies while fostering open communication with parents, students, and colleagues. Assess ongoing student progress, administer state assessments, and provide regular feedback. Assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities and maintain appropriate records. Participate in faculty meetings, staff committees, and professional development to support continuous growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Current ESL Certification
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Gifted Teachers must have 30 hours of gifted approved hours required
- Knowledge of subject matter in assigned position
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Completion of student teaching or approved internship
