Job Summary
Direct the growth and development of pupils while teaching the required curriculum adopted by the Board. Plan an instructional program incorporating annual objectives, assess effectiveness, and implement evidence-based practices to meet student needs. Collaborate with parents, community members, and staff to create a supportive environment, utilizing differentiated techniques for varying learning rates and styles. Maintain a safe, orderly classroom and report acts of violence to the principal. Accept non-instructional duties including bus duty, cafeteria supervision, and extra-curricular activity oversight as assigned. Attend professional development and participate in staff training.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold or have the ability to obtain North Carolina Teacher License
- Must meet the qualifications for Residency Teacher License
- Must be able to Prepare, read and comprehend a variety of job related forms, reports, spreadsheets, maps, plans, records, documentation and correspondence in all languages required by the job
- Must be able to Understand and conform to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style
- Must be able to Speak to individuals or groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence
- Must be able to Respond adequately to inquiries or complaints
- Must be able to Write using standard convention in all languages required by the job
- Must be able to Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Must be able to Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form
- Must be able to Communicate effectively and efficiently in all languages required by the job using whatever communication device or system is required (telephone, Braille)
- Must be able to Use/interpret job related terminology, mathematical formulas and functions effectively and efficiently
- Must be able to Deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions
- Must be able to Perform under stress, deal with persons acting under stress and adapt when confronted with emergency situations
- Must be able to Be sensitive to cultural differences among individuals and groups of persons
- Must be able to Operate a motor vehicle
- Must be able to Operate/use a variety of automated office machines and other office equipment
- Must be able to Operate/use a variety of printing/graphic arts machines
- Must be able to Operate/use a variety of audiovisual/electronic machines and devices
- Must be able to Operate/use a variety of communication machines/equipment/devices
- Must be able to Operate/use a variety of job specific machines/equipment
