Job Summary
Conduct routine manual labor for daily building cleaning, including dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, trash removal, bathroom cleaning, and furniture polishing. Lift heavy objects weighing 40+ lbs as needed and respond to emergencies supporting student operations. Maintain dependability and punctuality while cooperating with staff and adapting to environmental changes. Requires high school diploma, basic reading skills, and moderate physical strength. Evening shift at Eastern Montgomery High School with non-exempt status.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or passing score on the literacy test given by MCPS
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength
- Ability to read basic operating instructions
- Ability to cooperate with other staff members
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
- Ability to respond to emergencies in support of students and school operations
- Have the physical ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (40+ lbs.) as needed
- Dependability and punctuality
- Ability to support school functions and community activities as deemed necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment
- Previous custodial experience
- Ability to use a computer and input data
