Job Summary
Conduct routine manual labor for daily building cleaning, including dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, trash removal, bathroom sanitation, and furniture polishing. Lift heavy objects weighing 40+ lbs as needed and respond to emergencies supporting student and school operations. Perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength and adapt to changing work environments while cooperating with staff. Work a full-time evening shift at Auburn High School in Montgomery County Public Schools, Virginia.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or passing score on the literacy test given by MCPS
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength
- Ability to read basic operating instructions
- Ability to cooperate with other staff members
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
- Dependability and punctuality
- Ability to respond to emergencies in support of students and school operations
- Physical ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (40+ lbs.) as needed
- Ability to support school functions and community activities as deemed necessary
Desired Qualifications

- Previous custodial experience
