Job Summary
Conduct daily cleaning and groundskeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, disinfecting restrooms, and maintaining campus grounds. Operate school buses on assigned routes, ensuring student safety, adhering to traffic laws, and managing boarding and discharging procedures. Maintain building security by opening and locking facilities, respond to after-hours emergencies, and report mechanical defects or safety infractions. Complete required transportation reports and attend safety meetings. This 10-month temporary role requires a valid North Carolina commercial driver's license, current DOT drug and alcohol testing, and a high school diploma.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduation or its equivalency
- General knowledge and experience of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment and the ability to use them economically and efficiently
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years old with six (6) months driving experience
- Must be eligible to possess and maintain a current North Carolina commercial driver's license with proper endorsements and a current Bus Drivers Pocket Card
- Must pass a DOT drug and alcohol testing
- Must never have been convicted of a DWI Offense
- Must be able to: Walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel and crouch
- Must be able to: Work in various inside and outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, job hazards and atmospheric conditions
- Must be able to: Use visual acuity required for depth perception and color perception
- Must be able to: Visually inspect small defects and/or small parts
- Must be able to: Use a variety of measuring devices
- Must be able to: Assemble or fabricate parts at or within arm's length
- Must be able to: Operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment and tools
- Must be able to: Determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work
- Must be able to: Observe general surroundings and activities
- Must be able to: Hear sufficiently to accurately perceive information at normally spoken word levels
- Must be able to: Use communication by means of spoken word to express or exchange ideas
- Must be able to: Safely work in situations of exposure to blood borne pathogens which may require specialized personal protective equipment
