Job Summary
Teach English instruction for PK/K at Port Arthur Elementary, developing and implementing lesson plans aligned to district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines; assess and monitor student learning using formal/informal methods; collaborate with special education staff to modify curriculum per IEPs; supervise and coordinate activities with teacher aides and volunteers; use technology to enhance instruction; maintain open communication with parents, students, and colleagues; uphold classroom management and behavior standards as per Student Code of Conduct; deliver differentiated instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles; contribute to extracurricular activities per Campus Director's guidance; bilingual proficiency in Spanish to support dual-language program; stay informed of district policies and participate in staff development; maintain grade books, records, and required reports; ensure confidentiality and professional relationships within school community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing demands.
