Job Summary
Prepare and serve food, clean kitchen equipment and facilities, and maintain sanitation standards required by the Child Nutrition Services Office and Virginia Department of Health. Process customers promptly while accurately counting money and making change, ensuring student lunch status remains confidential. Operate the dish room to rinse trays, wash utensils through the dish machine, and dispose of trash. Clean assigned work areas including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing ovens, mixers, tables, steamers, kettles, dish machines, warmers, and utensils. Maintain required forms and records as assigned by the manager and attend job-related training classes.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain a Food Handlers card
- Ability to follow safety precautions to avoid injuries of minor cuts, falls, bruises, burns and scalds
- Ability to complete written forms and records
