Job Summary
Conduct instructional planning with the classroom teacher, assist students in improving basic academic skills, and interpret directions for learners. Monitor students during small group sessions, independent study, and field trips while managing classroom behavior and maintaining a clean learning environment. Provide additional instruction, read to students, and help arrange room furniture or learning centers as directed. Support the teacher with clerical duties, adhere to district policies on overtime and assets, and participate in required professional development. Foster a positive school climate and maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions with colleagues, parents, and administration.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from a community college
- two years of work at a senior college
- passing score on the state test
- Satisfactory completion of school district's pre-employment test requirements
- Ability and desire to work well with young children
