Job Summary
Direct and manage assigned areas of instructional program and campus operations, overseeing student activities and services. Encourage development of innovative instructional programs, reinforce expectations for staff performance, and foster collegiality among faculty. Lead planning for campus improvement initiatives and assist in developing campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members. Manage campus operations in the principal's absence, including scheduling daily activities, monitoring attendance, and compiling annual budget requests. Act as behavioral coordinator to develop discipline systems, ensure rule enforcement, and conduct conferences with parents and students. Supervise and evaluate professional staff, including teachers, custodians, and administrative assistants, while serving as a second appraiser for designated teacher evaluations. Articulate the school's mission to the community and initiate activities to encourage parent involvement. Comply with district policies, state and federal laws, and regulations affecting schools.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from accredited university
- Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate
- Certified Texas Teacher Support and Evaluation System (NIET) appraiser
- Knowledge of campus operations
- Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to interpret data
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Two years experience as a classroom teacher
- Occasional districtwide and statewide travel
