Job Summary
Develop and administer middle level English Language Arts curriculum consistent with district goals while creating flexible, safe learning environments for individualized instruction. Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning, modify instructional methods to meet diverse needs, and administer standardized tests in accordance with district programs. Maintain accurate records for grading, reporting, and attendance, and coordinate with grade-level staff to evaluate curriculum and participate in faculty meetings. Encourage parental involvement, ensure student conduct aligns with district policies, and select appropriate instructional materials and supplies.
Required Qualifications
- South Carolina State Certification as Middle Level/Secondary Teacher
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Middle Level/Secondary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment
Desired Qualifications
- South Carolina State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred
- Masters Degree in related area preferred
- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels a plus
