Job Summary
Provide instructional support services for PK-3 students aligned with ESSA-Title I, IDEA-B, and learning loss initiatives. Deliver push-in or pull-out classroom services, supplemental tutoring for English learners and students with disabilities, and substitute teaching when classrooms are uncovered. Monitor student safety and security, patrol assigned areas, and reinforce concepts using varied instructional strategies. Progress monitor achievement through pre and post assessments while collaborating with classroom teachers to address appropriate skills. Manage individual student behavior to maintain a positive learning environment and interact respectfully with staff, students, and parents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Appropriate certification / licensure
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear, complete, and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of learners
- Knowledge of academic area and teaching methodology
- Basic knowledge of all other subject matter
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
- Effective, active listening skills
- Organizational and problem solving skills
- Experience working with children
- Training in varied instructional methods
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent reading comprehension
