Job Summary
Direct the growth and development of pupils by teaching the required curriculum, planning instructional programs, and assessing individual student abilities to accommodate diverse learning rates and styles. Incorporate evidence-based research practices, collaborate with parents and community members, and implement classroom management techniques to maintain a safe, orderly environment. Monitor student achievement continuously, provide remediation as required, and accept responsibility for non-instructional duties such as bus duty, cafeteria supervision, or extra-curricular activities. Attend professional development and serve on committees to support school improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold or have the ability to obtain North Carolina Teacher License
- Must meet the qualifications for Residency Teacher License
- Must be able to Prepare, read and comprehend a variety of job related forms, reports, spreadsheets, maps, plans, records, documentation and correspondence in all languages required by the job
- Must be able to Understand and conform to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style
- Must be able to Speak to individuals or groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence
- Must be able to Respond adequately to inquiries or complaints
- Must be able to Write using standard convention in all languages required by the job
- Must be able to Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Must be able to Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form
- Must be able to Communicate effectively and efficiently in all languages required by the job using whatever communication device or system is required (telephone, Braille)
- Must be able to Use/interpret job related terminology, mathematical formulas and functions effectively and efficiently
- Must be able to Deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions
- Must be able to Perform under stress, deal with persons acting under stress and adapt when confronted with emergency situations
- Must be able to Be sensitive to cultural differences among individuals and groups of persons
- Must be able to Operate a motor vehicle
- Must be able to Operate/use a variety of automated office machines and other office equipment
- Must be able to Operate/use a variety of printing/graphic arts machines
- Must be able to Operate/use a variety of audiovisual/electronic machines and devices
- Must be able to Operate/use a variety of communication machines/equipment/devices
- Must be able to Operate/use a variety of job specific machines/equipment
