Job Summary
Provide instruction for 6th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies, develop and implement TEA/district-aligned curricula, create and assess lesson plans, and manage a diverse classroom. Collaborate with parents, staff, and administrators; maintain open communication; participate in meetings; administer state assessments; support students through ARD/LPAC/IEP processes; supervise extracurricular activities; maintain professional relationships and adhere to district policies. Must hold a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements, and obtain ESL certification within two years. Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; plan and differentiate instruction to meet varied student needs; participate in professional development and comply with state and district regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Current ESL Certification: ESL Certification required within (2) years of employment beginning with teachers hired in the 2010-2011 school year
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Gifted Teachers must have 30 hours of gifted approved hours required
