Job Summary
Develop and implement curriculum plans that accommodate individual student differences while employing diverse instructional techniques and media. Assess student accomplishments regularly to provide progress reports and assist students in improving study habits and methods. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, establish discipline, and supervise students before, during, and after the school day. Maintain open communication with parents and colleagues, participate in faculty meetings and staff committees, and comply with state and district regulations. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure job effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Eligible for the appropriate Probationary Certificate through a TEA approved Teacher Certification Program
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Must be able to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress
- Must be able to work after school and weekends
- Occasionally required to travel to facilities within the district
