Job Summary
Instruct 4th grade students by preparing lesson plans, activities, and assignments while managing classroom behavior and supervising students in hallways, cafeterias, and bus areas. Evaluate student performance through tests and assignments, maintain accurate grading records, and communicate regularly with parents regarding schedules, events, and individual needs. Collaborate with staff to set instructional goals, attend faculty meetings and in-service training, and actively participate in school community events and fundraisers. Provide substitute lesson plans for staff absences and ensure a safe, orderly learning environment aligned with Catholic Church teachings and diocese policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent
- PA Certification (K-4)
- Clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH)
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
- Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check
- Attendance at the online Protecting God's Children class
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Ability to handle classroom situations with fairness and patience
- Ability to respond calmly to overwhelming and difficult situations
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, a high degree of credibility, integrity, and self-confidence
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone
- Use of hands to perform standard classroom duties and use office equipment is required
- Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities
