Job Summary
Elementary School Teacher (4th Grade) in Atlanta Public Schools; responsible for face-to-face instruction in a school-building setting with differentiated instruction to support student success. Instructs in-person using lectures, discussions, visual aids, and varied instructional strategies; prepares lessons, administers and grades assessments, and monitors student progress. Collaborates with teachers and administrators to align with approved curricula; conducts in-person conferences with parents/guardians; maintains accurate student records; ensures classroom sanitation and safety; and supports state/local testing processes. Requires SRT4-Certification in Early Childhood Education or related field (P-5) or passing the GACE, and a Bachelor's Degree with at least 2.5 GPA. Strong written/spoken communication, instructional planning, student management, adaptability to in-person learning environments, and professional collaboration are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of SRT4-Certification in Early Childhood Education or related field (P-5) OR Passed the GACE in Early Childhood Education
- Bachelor's Degree required with at least a 2.5 GPA
- Face-to-face instruction within the school building with students present
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to adapt between in-person learning environments
- Knowledge of school safety & security procedures
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Instruct students in an in-person classroom environment using lectures, discussions, and instructional strategies
- Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments; monitor progress
- Coordinate in-person conferences with parents/guardians
- Maintain accurate student records as required by policies
- Collaborate with teachers/administrators to develop and revise programs
- Attend in-person faculty meetings and training
- Maintain prompt, regular in-person attendance
- Ability to be flexible between in-person and various classroom environments
