Job Summary
Establish and maintain a comprehensive school health program while developing nursing care plans for students and staff. Conduct annual vision and hearing screenings, ensure compliance with Arizona immunization requirements, and coordinate referrals to healthcare providers. Document care via computer systems, gather statistics for district records, and serve as Employee Health Nurse for staff injuries. Collaborate with internal and external health professionals to promote wellness and advocate for a healthy school environment. Perform health screenings, collect developmental status data, and implement health education initiatives. Requires current Arizona RN license, school nurse certification, and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Current Arizona State Registered Nurse License
- Current CPR Certification
- Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Arizona School Nurse Certification or National School Nurse Certification
- Knowledge of federal and state mandates relating to School Health Services/Practices
- Physical requirements may require lifting, assisted lifting/moving school age children
- Walking, stooping, bending, reaching, lifting, twisting, standing and sitting for extended periods
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Arizona School Nurse Certification or National School Nurse Certification preferred
