Job Summary
As a Physical Education Teacher, you will design and implement lesson plans adhering to California Department of Education standards and charter policies. You will help students develop essential skills for personal growth, manage classroom dynamics, and ensure a supportive learning environment. Responsibilities include collaborating on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), employing technology to enhance instructional practices, and maintaining communication with parents and colleagues. A BA or BS in a relevant subject is required, along with appropriate California teaching credentials.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS (as appropriate) degree in subject matter (preferably with emphasis in engineering or natural science)
- California Commission on Teacher Credentialing credential, certificate, permit or other documentation equivalent to what a teacher in other public schools would be required to hold
- Capability of instructing students and managing their behavior
Desired Qualifications
- Highly qualified in core courses as defined in the section titled “NCLB and Credentialing Requirements”
- Understanding of subjects assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
