Job Summary

Patrol campus grounds, buildings, and surrounding neighborhoods to ensure student safety and security. Supervise students in all campus settings, including cafeterias, bus loading areas, hallways, and field trips, while maintaining discipline and de-escalating conflicts. Escort students to and from classrooms, assist with special needs, and provide first aid or injury evaluation as needed. Monitor nearby businesses to address off-campus behavior and respond to inquiries from staff, parents, and the community. Escort students to and from classrooms as needed. Document behavior incidents, file reports, and complete required district logs and paperwork. Assist teachers with supplemental practice, grading, and classroom materials under direction. Perform clerical duties, data entry, and attendance monitoring. Attend in-service trainings and staff meetings as directed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Ability to obtain and hold a valid First Aid/CPR card
  • Pass Safe Schools training modules as assigned
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally maneuver up to 50 pounds
  • Close vision

  • Knowledge of District policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of letter writing
  • Knowledge of correct language usage

  • Knowledge of modern office equipment
  • Knowledge of safety and first aid practices and procedures
  • Ability to apply student de-escalation strategies in a variety of unique situations and environments
  • Ability to transition smoothly from one task to another, through multiple environments within a school day
  • Ability to understand and apply District and school policies and procedures
  • Ability to maintain appropriate appearance and attire
  • Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance and punctuality, as set forth in Board policy
  • Ability to greet stakeholders
  • Ability to provide information pertaining to area and/or District/School policies, procedures and other pertinent information
  • Ability to operate, maintain and arrange for repair various office/school equipment
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work and from diverse backgrounds

  • Ability to utilize keyboarding skills commensurate with the required functions for this position
