Job Summary
Exceptional Children Lead Teacher responsibilities include delivering KIPP NC EC curriculum across K-12 content areas (K-8 Math, K-4 ELA, 5-8 ELA, 9-12 all subjects), practicing lesson delivery, creating exemplar responses, using data from interim assessments and state tests to drive instruction, maintaining accurate gradebooks and records, building positive relationships with students and families, and participating in regular professional development and coaching. The role emphasizes collaboration with coaches, adherence to school culture and policies, ongoing feedback integration, and engagement in related duties such as communications with families, attendance at events, and fulfilling duties during arrival, advisory, lunch, recess, and dismissal. Required qualifications include a valid NC teaching license or reciprocity eligibility, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant content area, and successful criminal background screening; preferred qualifications include 2+ years EC/SPED experience, IEP/504 experience, Praxis outcome, Spanish fluency, and experience in high-performing charter schools. Hours are 7:30am-3:30pm on M, Th, F and 7:30am-5pm on Tu, W; benefits include healthcare, retirement program with employer match, and professional development opportunities.
